Robin Hood – truth or legend?

By Steve Gardner, Teacher of Drama

Thought you knew the truth about Robin Hood? Think again. Will you see Kevin Costner being launched by a catapult? No. That didn’t happen. Will you see Russell Crowe’s Irish/Australian interpretation on the stage? No. That didn’t happen either.  What you will see is the unexpurgated truth. You will meet characters that have been kept under lock and key and out of the storybooks. Were you ever told of Polly the Painter’s role in The Sheriff’s downfall or how an Irish Tree Nymph assisted in Marion’s rescue? No. Come and see the truth for yourself and celebrate the opening of the new outdoor performance space, which was created by 6.2s last October. Seating space is strictly limited, so please book promptly for the remaining tickets. 7.30pm Thursday 28 and Friday 29 June, 1pm Saturday 30 June. Email tickets@bedales.org.uk or telephone 01730 711511.
