Student’s photography award from Marwell

Congratulations to Block 4 student, Emily Swettenham, who has received an award from Marwell for her entry in a photography competition that received over 1,500 submissions. Entitled, ‘Marwell Wildlife Residents’, the brief was to capture a striking image of one of the animals at Marwell. Emily’s photograph of a giraffe’s silhouette was awarded in the junior category. The photos were judged by a panel of experts including wildlife television producer Philippa Forrester and award-winning wildlife photographer and author Heather Angel. Emily received a family day pass to Marwell Wildlife along with an official A3 print of her image. As runner-up in her category, Emily’s print, along with the other finalists, will be on display at Marwell at the end of the year.


Bedales School is one of the UK’s top independent private co-education boarding schools. Bedales comprises three schools situated in Steep, near Petersfield, Hampshire: Dunannie (ages 3–8), Dunhurst (ages 8–13) and Bedales itself (ages 13–18).
