The Relapse: a substantial performance

The way in which the varied ages of students came together to perform such a substantial and effective performance of The Relapse this week was a delight to watch. This restoration comedy written in 1696 still managed to make an audience of all ages laugh. A modern twist (Phil King’s debut into his Bedalian career wasn’t going to go unnoticed) came through the constant underscore of remixes such as Candi Staton’s You Got The Love, and a clean crisp white set, with contrasting light. The elegance in which the actors carried themselves on stage was captivating. A big well done to everyone involved for creating something so special. View production programme. View photos.
