Bedales Jazz: Meier Group

Flamenco and Turkish influences as well as classical sources inspire jazz from the Meier Group in next Friday’s concert at Bedales. Nicolas Meier (guitar) and Asaf Sirkis (drums) made powerful impressions on previous visits to Bedales Jazz. James Pearson (piano) is resident pianist at Ronnie Scott’s and Lizzie Ball (violin) has played alongside Nigel Kennedy. Demi Garcia, the London-based Spanish percussionist, and Kevin Glasgow, the outstanding young Scottish bassist, complete the sextet. This promises to be a wonderfully entertaining evening for all ages, featuring outstanding musicians on the European jazz scene, and should be inspiring for a wide range of student instrumentalists. Tickets cost £14 and £12 (concessions), and are available from or 01730 711511.
