Prep schools enjoy Tudor music at Bedales

Bedales hosted a workshop for young musicians recently to give them a taste of music education and the chance to experience participation in a concert in the Olivier Theatre. Students from Bloo House, Camelsdale First School, Conifers, Dorset House, Knightsbridge School, Newton Prep and Oakwood School joined students from Dunhurst, Block 5 and the Sixth Form. Students began by discovering the dance choreography of the Tudor period before moving on to exploring the music played at such performances. Bedales Director of Music, Nick Gleed and Director of Music at Dunhurst, Ben Harlan, led the workshops, which featured madrigals, instrumental ensembles and the chance to play in a renaissance band alongside Bedales Sixth Formers.
